According to Wikipedia, the Federal government authorized JUPEB, officially known as the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board, to serve as a national examinations authority in Nigeria in 2013. However, in April 2014, a group of ten (10) partner universities led by the University of Lagos formally established the examination organization.
Nonetheless, the board’s primary responsibility is to administer common and standard exams to its applicants who have completed at least one year of approved study or diploma-level courses at various universities and are applying for Direct Entry admission process to 200-level courses at Nigerian and collaborating foreign universities.
