A Comprehensive Guide: Requirements to Study Business Education in UNIMAID

Studying Business Education at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) can provide students with a strong foundation in business principles and educational strategies.

If you’re considering pursuing a degree in this field, it’s crucial to understand the requirements set by UNIMAID.

In this article, we will provide you with a comprehensive list of the requirements needed to study Business Education at UNIMAID, enabling you to embark on your academic journey with confidence.

1. Requirements To Study Business Education In UNIMAID:

To gain admission into the Business Education program at UNIMAID, prospective students must meet certain educational qualifications.

These include obtaining a minimum of five credits in relevant subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent.

These subjects typically include Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and any other two relevant subjects such as Business Studies or Accounting.

2. UTME/JAMB Requirements

UNIMAID requires prospective students to participate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

To be eligible, candidates must choose UNIMAID as their preferred institution during the UTME registration process and score the minimum required cutoff mark for Business Education.

3. Post-UTME Screening

After successful completion of the UTME, candidates must participate in the UNIMAID Post-UTME screening exercise.

This screening typically involves a written examination that assesses applicants’ knowledge in relevant subjects.

The University will provide specific details regarding the date, time, and venue for the screening exercise, so it is essential to stay updated through the official UNIMAID website or other credible sources.

4. Direct Entry Requirements

If you are seeking admission into the Business Education program at UNIMAID through the Direct Entry (DE) route, you must possess a National Diploma (ND) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

Additionally, you will need to satisfy the general requirements set by JAMB for Direct Entry candidates, such as obtaining a minimum of five credits in relevant subjects in your O’Level results.

5. Admission Quota and Competition

It is important to note that UNIMAID, like other universities, has a limited number of slots for each program. Business Education may have a specific admission quota, and competition for admission can be intense.

Meeting the minimum requirements is not a guarantee of admission. It is advisable to strive for excellent academic performance and prepare adequately for the entrance examinations to increase your chances of securing admission.
